Ronald S. Garcia, O.D.

Dr. Garcia has been in practice here in Marin County since 1991. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from UC Berkeley in 1985 and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1991.
Dr. Garcia is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and has held board positions with the local Redwood Empire Optometric Society. |
He is licensed to practice full primary care optometry, which includes prescribing medications for the treatment of eye disease (e.g. primary glaucoma, minor injuries, ocular infections, etc.), prescribing glasses, conventional and specialty contact lenses, eye exercises for the treatment of ocular muscular disorders, and consultation & co-management of cataract and laser vision correction.
33 years of optometry has not jaded Dr. Garcia. He still has a passion for eye care and looks forward to the visits from his long time patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Garcia loves to spend quality time with his wife of 28 years, Paula and their two adult sons, Derrick & Alec. Lastly, Dr. Garcia is an avid sports fan of UC Berkeley's Golden Bears, the SF Giants, and SF 49ers. He also enjoys TV, movies, running, scuba diving, and golf.

Jeffrey T. Iwami, O.D.

Dr. Iwami brings to EyeDesigns Optometry over 25 years of optometric experience in Marin County. He received his BS degree in Psychobiology at UCLA in 1994 and his Doctorate from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1998. He is licensed to practice full primary care optometry: including prescribing medications, contact lenses, glasses, and vision therapy. He also has many years of experience in co-management of LASIK and PRK refractive surgeries.
On a more personal note, while Dr. Iwami grew up in sunny Los Angeles, he began his practice of optometry in Marin, loves it and calls it his home. He enjoys swimming, baseball, and spending valuable time with his wife and 2 daughters. |
Seth, Optician
Seth was born in Laos but grew up in San Francisco, and now calls the East Bay his home. He has extensive ophthalmic training dating back to the Bryman School in 1995, ultimately achieving the highest level of education in the industry: American Board of Opticianry Certification. While he is very experienced in all aspects of eye care, he is especially skilled in frame adjustment and repair. However, his main passion is helping patients select the perfect eyeglass frame!
In his spare time, Seth enjoys fishing, BBQ, karaoke, and spending quality time with family and friends. Plus, he's a HUGE fan of the SF 49ers and Golden State Warriors.

Tim, optician
Tim was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but has spent his formative years between Marin County and the Islands. He graduated from San Francisco State University as an art major but spent his early career years in the trades. He then transitioned into eye care and the optical industry two and a half years ago, finding an enthusiasm for a professional career opportunity that he had always hoped for. He is now using his compassionate personality to assist in the pre-examination process, and his artistic eye to help patients find that ideal eyeglass frame.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with family and close friends, live music, surfing, and being a fan of the NFL, especially the San Francisco 49ers.
nick, Practice Coach/Optician

Nick is our Practice Coach and longest tenured employee. He has been a valued member of the EyeDesigns team for over three years now, and has ample knowledge about eye health and anatomy that he loves to share with his patients. Nick is also very experienced with opticianry, VSP billing and will likely be walking you through your pre-examination testing experience.
While Nick juggles full-time work and completing his college bachelor's degree, he still has interests out of the office that include playing basketball, watching sports and collecting sneakers. He is a big fan of all sports, but his favorites are football and mixed martial arts, and would love to chat sports with any of his fellow fans. He also has an extensive shoe collection that he sometimes likes to show off in the office. He has been a resident of San Rafael almost his entire life and is a familiar face for many of our local patients. |
Vickie, Receptionist

Vickie is a native of the East Bay, has several years of health care experience, and is dedicated to providing our patients excellent customer service. As our receptionist, she will welcome you to the office with her warm personality, work diligently through all your insurance needs, be happy to help you schedule your appointments, and even give you an opinion on your eyeglass frame selection.
Outside the office, Vickie enjoys spending time with her cats and friends, and loves exploring the Bay Area. |
